Help Ukulandia uit de penarie Tja, we komen niet altijd aan ukulele spelen toe. Want zoals je inmiddels al weet gaat niet altijd alles voorspoedig en hebben we een rampzalige aardverschuiving op de berg gehad. Het gaat redelijk goed met de GoFundMe - Landslide Damage! pagina, al heeft nog niet iedereen ons gevonden. Van het eerste geld dat binnen is gekomen zijn we begonnen het gebied toegankelijk te maken, zodat we straks terassen kunnen gaan bouwen en alvast wat Vetiver (grassoort met lange wortels) planten om verdere erosie tegen te gaan. Maar we zijn er echt nog niet! Help je mee?

Hello Ukulele Friends!From the phenomenal Joop van den Zoon's Grandioze Doordraaishow, we have this time in the Ukulele Play Along: DE PETRONELLA'S (Gwenda Leenders and Eveline Ketterings), with the song *Kus Me Honey Honey Kus Me*. The recording dates back to 1992, long before the existence of *Het Ukulele Paradijs*. The artists would keep performing until they were flagged off by a majority of the audience. The stage would then rotate to the next artist. The Petronellas, however, were often able to sing their song to the end! And you might initially think that the chords are difficult—Eb, Bb, and Ab... But with a little practice, they are actually quite easy and really come in handy often! Tip from the UkeMaster: If you don't play the top string on that Ab chord, or mute it a little with your finger on the string below, it's simply a G shifted up one fret! If you do play the top string, you have an Abmaj7, and that often sounds surprisingly good too.

Fortunately, there are still many sparrows in this area. At Ukulandia / Buena Vista, there are only a few. That is why we had already hung up a sparrow apartment earlier. A few weeks ago, they were already sticking their heads out of the bottom nest, while the top one had just been occupied. By now, it is also quite busy there with chirping and feeding. Just a few more days, and they will fledge too!

Help Ukulandia As you already know, not everything is going smoothly, and we have had a disastrous landslide on the mountain. The GoFundMe - Landslide Damage! page is doing reasonably well, although not everyone has found us yet. Of course, we also invite everyone to come visit in person! With the first funds that came in, we have started making the area accessible so that we can soon start building terraces and planting some Vetiver (a type of grass with long roots) to prevent further erosion. Tip van de UkeMaster: Als je bij dat Ab akkoord de bovenste snaar niet meespeelt of een beetje dempt met de vinger op de snaar eronder is het gewoon een G en dan één vakje opgeschoven! Speel je de bovenste snaar toch mee, dan heb je een Abmaj7, en die klinkt ook vaak verrassend goed.
